Town in South Coast

About Gerringong

Gerringong is a picturesque coastal town located in the Kiama Municipality of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 130 kilometers south of Sydney. Situated on the South Coast region, it sits along the scenic Grand Pacific Drive, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The town is nestled between rolling green hills and pristine beaches, with Werri Beach being its main coastal attraction. This 1.7km stretch of sand is popular among surfers due to its reliable breaks at both ends of the beach. The surrounding landscape features rich volcanic soil, which has made the area historically significant for dairy farming. The township sits elevated above the coastline, providing spectacular vantage points for whale watching during migration seasons. To the north, the town is bordered by the Kiama Municipality, while to the south lies Seven Mile Beach and the town of Gerroa. The area's natural beauty is complemented by its proximity to the Crooked River, which flows into Werri Beach, creating a diverse ecosystem that supports local wildlife and adds to the region's natural charm.
